**Pizza Thursday**
Dear Parents,
In an effort to ease tracking your child’s pizza orders, the AKCS PTA has created an email address for you to send questions to- PizzaAKCS@gmail.com.
In addition, you can use access to a Google document that will have your account information available. To gain access, send an email to PizzaAKCS@gmail.com and request the link. You will receive an email response with the link included.
Each child has been assigned a 3-digit GoogID to be used with the Google document. Each ID is individual to the child, so please keep it in a safe place. The GoogID is used to look up your child’s information. No names are provided in the Google document.
In order to ease the demands of the Pizza Volunteers, it is highly recommended that you use the Google document and your child’s GoogID as your first indicator for your child’s pizza account balance. Though money and payments will not be shown, the dates for where your child’s account is paid up to will be.
Also, your child has a week countdown on their Student Pizza Card. This number will be reduced each week your child is present for pizza. We recommend that you ask them to notice this count down and keep you informed should it drop below 3 weeks.

Dear Alice King Parents, Teachers, and Staff
Welcome Everyone to another great year at Alice King Community School.
For our new families, students, and staff, we would like to thank you for being a part of AKCS and look forward to getting to know all of you. For our returning families, students and staff, we want to thank you for all your efforts and support for our school and look forward to another great year here at AKCS.
Last year was an exciting year with many milestones and memories. The successes we shared were only made possible by the Parents, Family members (grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends), and our dedicated teachers and staff that joined the AKCS PTA to provide lunches for students who forgot lunches, the sock hop, the read-a-thon, literacy night, science night, and the scholastic book fair. We also raised $5,000 to purchase math materials for our students. Stone Soup was one of our most memorable events, sharing performances of students and awareness of community by celebrating their achievements in supporting local charities. A special thanks is also extended to our Administration for supporting all of the AKCS PTA events.
We Would like to invite parents, family members, and AKCS staff to join the AKCS PTA for the 2011-2012 school year. As a member of the AKCS PTA and part of the NMPTA, we will have the honor of working side by side to achieve another great year for the support of our school, our administration, teachers, staff, parents, students and families. We will be inviting community members to participate in various events and acknowledging their involvement with the school as well. As an AKCS PTA member, we can reach out and bring awareness to our school and our school community.
Our first General Membership meeting will be held September 8, 2011 at 8:45am. We will be having our Officer Elections by general members. If you know someone or if you would have an interest in serving on the AKCS PTA Board, please contact Wendy Licon at w.licon@yahoo.com. There are many ways to be involved that may require a minimal amount of time and commitment. We would like to encourage you, other family members and friends to become involved in another great year. Your $8 membership helps support our AKCS PTA and NMPTA. Through participation we can work together to make a difference one member at a time!
