Special Education

Robyn Mass

I am currently teaching special education at the 4th-5th grade level at Alice King Community School. This is my 15th year of teaching, and I am certified to teach regular and special education at the elementary level. I also have my ESL endorsement, and am completing a dyslexia language therapist certification program. I have held many leadership roles including an instructional coach for the Second Grade Reading Academy, and I represented my previous school as one of the APS district Literacy Leaders for ten years. I work closely with parents and colleagues to ensure the success of all students. I feel blessed to work at Alice King Community School, where parents, students, and staff go the extra mile for excellence and success in school!

I am currently teaching special education for the K-3 classrooms. I have been teaching special needs students for 20 years. I have earned my Bachelors Degree in Special Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Technology, both from the University of New Mexico. I enjoy any outdoor activity including gardening, swimming and hiking. I am proud to be here at AKCS.

Jonas Cossey

I’m a long time New Mexico transplant and graduated from UNM in 2005 with degrees in Economics, Political Science and Philosophy. More recently I received my Special Education Licensure through CNM and am extremely happy to be starting my fifth year at Alice King, the fourth as a teacher. It is an honor to both teach and learn from your students on a daily basis. My primary experience has been with younger elementary students so I’m excited for the opportunity to work this year with the upper grades.
