AKCS Mission

Our mission is to provide an inclusive educational program for all students in a safe and rigorous learning environment utilizing a myriad of approaches in order to prepare students with 21st century skills so they can build a solid foundation and become positive contributors to our community.

Multiage classrooms will allow each child to progress at an individualized pace while building a community of learners that is not age-dependent. Our small, caring community will utilize best practices that are based upon recent brain-based research to keep students’ brains turned on and tuned in. When children complete their time with us, they will be prepared to be successful in a changing world.

Alice King Community School – An Academy of Learning (formerly known as The North Albuquerque Cooperative Community Charter School or NACC) opened in August 2006 and currently serves grades K-8.   AKCS is an inclusive learning community which provides greater guidance, a non-traditional weekly schedule (Monday-Thursday), and a highly individualized education in an active environment which encourages parental involvement.

Please consider donating to our school in order for us to be able to continue our superior educational program!

We are currently fundraising for our Family Fund.
